Greater Powell Veterans Memoral

5 Monoliths, One for Each Branch of Service

The monoliths are 8 foot high by 6 foot wide, and have the branch of service emblem on the front, with the service motto on the back.  The branches of service are: Army Air Force, Coast Guard, Navy, & Marines.
The designer wanted these monoliths to be bigger than life, because they represent people who are bigger than life.  People who sacrificed for the good of people they may never meet.  Most sacrificed without any expectations of getting a thank you and during some generations, many sacrificed and came home to ridicule.  Let us honor our Veterans with the respect they have earned.  As I stood next to one of the monoliths for the first time I realized what Dan Maust the designer meant.  I could feel the strength and honor of each Veteran these monoliths represent.
Taking our children or grandchildren to see the Memorial they may further understand the importance in honoring each and every Veteran, and remembering to tell them “thank you for your sacrifice!”

6 Black Granite Benches
