Cornerstones

On the “floor” of the Memorial there are 5 black granite “cornerstones” in the same pentagon shape reflected throughout the Memorial.  One of the stones has a dedication from the Board of Directors. The remainder stones are each inscribed with famous quotes which helps us to further appreciate what it means to be a Veteran.  As you walk through the Memorial you will be able to read these inscriptions that have been provided by individual donors. 

Each stone sold for $10,000 and there is still 1 stone available for sale. The stones have 24 inch sides. The one remaining stone has the following quote:

“This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave.” by Elmer Davis.

Flag Pole Base

The flag pole is the central focus of the entire Memorial.  Every Veteran has served in honor of the flag of the United States of America.  The flag pole base is made of black granite and is a 5 sided pentagon.  The sides of the flag pole base measure: over 4 feet tall and expand 30” across at the top and 42” at the bottom.  
Out of the base will be a flag pole that will carry the flag of the United States of America and the POW/MIA flag.  We must never forget those who suffered as a POW or those who remain unaccounted for and are missing in action.  By flying these flags hopefully this will be a constant reminder of all Veterans, and especially those men and women unaccounted for.

Four sides of the flag pole base have inscriptions of  quotes and names of donors of $1,000 and more.  The fifth side has the “Pledge of Allegiance” engraved on it for all to see every time they visit the Memorial.
